Where inplan uses AI, and how
inplan carries the swiss made software + AI label. It obliges us to disclose where artificial intelligence sits in the product, what it is built on and what happens to your data along the way.
The features that use AI
AI planning
Fills a month’s open demand with people who may work the shift under the law and the organisation’s rules.
- Role
- Supports a feature. Planning works entirely by hand too; AI planning takes the rest off your hands.
- Technology
- Mathematical optimisation. The rules are written out and weighed against each other; no language model is involved.
- Origin
- Our own development, built on the open-source Timefold solver.
- Data
- Runs in our own infrastructure in Switzerland. Your data does not leave it for this.
- Training
- None. The planning does not learn from your data.
Ask inplan
The assistant in the app answers questions about your plan and the product, and prepares changes. Every change waits for your approval.

- Supports a feature. inplan works fully without the assistant; it is switched on per organisation.
- Technology
- A large language model that reaches your plan through defined tools, and only within your permissions.
- Origin
- A language model by DeepSeek with open weights (open-weight).
- Data
- Your plan stays in Switzerland. For each question, the excerpt the answer needs goes through the OpenRouter service to a provider that runs the model, and is processed outside Switzerland.
- Training
- We do not train or fine-tune the model.
